Patel was born on April 23, 1990 in Harrow, United Kingdom. He is an acclaimed British actor best known for his leading role in the 2008 hit movie Slumdog Millionaire, which earned him a number of awards and nominations.

Dev’s career started in 2004 when he appeared as Anwar Kharral in the TV drama series Skins. This marked the start of his professional acting career, with roles in various films and television shows. His breakthrough came when he was cast as Jamal Malik in Danny Boyle’s 2008 hit Slumdog Millionaire. Dev’s performance earned him critical acclaim and numerous awards including a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.
